How We Rate Crypto Casinos

Every score on this site comes from the same weighted model: seven criteria, real deposits and real test withdrawals.

Here you can see exactly what we check, how much each part weighs and what makes a score change.

Methodology

How a Review Works

We open an account, deposit our own money and test the full flow at every casino before we set a score. Every review follows the same checklist regardless of operator, and the same model is used across all our markets.

The same model for everyone

Every casino is rated against the same seven criteria with fixed weights. No operator can buy a higher score, and no weights get adjusted after the fact.

Verified details

License numbers are checked in the issuing regulator's public register, bonus terms are read in full and withdrawal times are measured with real withdrawals to our own wallet.

Living scores

Scores aren't one-off assessments. We re-review casinos regularly and adjust the score when terms, licenses or withdrawal times change.

The rating model

How the score is weighted

Every casino is reviewed against the same model. Each criterion has a fixed weight that reflects how much it matters for safety and the practical player experience.

  • Payments

    30 %

Withdrawal time, min/max limits, fees, internal review routines, Lightning Network, supported cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and fiat on-ramp.

  • Bonus

    15 %

Welcome bonus, wagering requirements, max win, max bet, validity period and restrictions.

  • Security

    15 %

If and when KYC is required, which documents are requested, how clearly it is communicated, 2FA and data protection.

  • Look and feel

    10 %

Mobile experience, navigation, language support and overall user experience.

  • Games

    10 %

Number of games, game types, providers, provably fair titles, and whether betting is offered.

  • License

    10 %

License type, operating company, jurisdiction, year established, and how openly terms are published.

  • Support

    10 %

Live chat, response times and complaint handling.

  • Player reviews (Trustpilot & AskGamblers)

    ±1.0 points

Verified player feedback can move the weighted score by at most 1.0 points up or down. The more reviews, the bigger the effect; a handful of reviews has virtually no impact.

The weights always sum to 100%. If a sub-score is missing, its weight is redistributed across the remaining criteria.

The scale

What the score means

Scores go up to 5.0 with one decimal. The bands below are the same ones that color every rating badge on the site.

  • Excellent4.5–5.0
  • Very good4.0–4.4
  • Good3.5–3.9
  • OK3.0–3.4
  • Weak2.0–2.9

Testing

How We Test in Practice

The sub-scores are built on our own tests, not on the casino's marketing.

Deposits with our own money

A real crypto deposit where we note confirmations and check that the balance lands correctly.

Timed test withdrawals

A real withdrawal to our own wallet where we measure the time until the money arrives.

Support tests

Real questions in live chat where we note response time and the quality of the answers.

Terms review

Bonus and withdrawal terms are read in full, with particular attention to max win, max bet and fees.

Missing data

How We Handle Missing Data

Transparency is a core part of the scoring. If a casino doesn't publish information that matters to you as a player, we say so openly instead of leaving the field blank.

Missing details are shown openly

If withdrawal limits, license numbers or KYC processes can't be verified, the value is marked as missing until the casino publishes it.

Missing information lowers the score

A casino shouldn't benefit from withholding details that help players make informed decisions.

We never guess

We never fill in details ourselves, and we don't assume an unknown value is a good one.

Tie-breaks

How We Break Ties

Two casinos can land on the same total score. In the ratings table above, player reviews then decide the order.

1. Trustpilot decides first

The casino with the higher Trustpilot rating ranks first. A casino without a Trustpilot rating drops below.

2. Then AskGamblers

If the Trustpilot ratings are level too, the AskGamblers scores are compared the same way.

3. Equal placement

If neither source separates the casinos, they're treated as equals and listed alphabetically.

Transparency

Three Ratings, Not Just Ours

On top of our own assessment, we factor verified player feedback from Trustpilot and AskGamblers into the total score. It can move the score by at most 1.0 points, and the sources are weighted by volume: the more reviews, the bigger the effect. A handful of reviews has virtually no impact. We always show all three ratings openly and never hide a poor one.

Our rating

The editorial team's weighted total, based on our own tests of deposits, withdrawals, terms and support. The scale runs to 5.0.

AskGamblers

Complaint statistics and resolution rates from one of the industry's most established review sites. The scale runs to 10.

Trustpilot

Real player reviews that capture the customer experience over time. The scale runs to 5.0.

Updates

How Scores Get Updated

A score has a shelf life. Casinos switch licenses, tighten bonus terms and change withdrawal limits, and the score has to keep up.

Ongoing re-reviews

Every review is revisited quarterly. The ratings table above shows when each review was last checked.

Immediate action

For major events like a lost license, a change of ownership or frozen withdrawals, the score is updated right away.

Traceable changes

Major changes are logged and shown in the change history on each review.

Guidelines

Independence and Funding

How we make money, and how we make sure it never affects the scores.

We may earn a commission when you sign up at a casino through our links. The commission never affects scores, rankings or what we write, and you never pay more for using a link.

There are no paid placements in our top lists. A casino that wants a higher score has exactly one way to get it: better terms, faster withdrawals and clearer information.

Reviews are written and fact-checked by the editorial team, independently of partner deals. Read more about the team and our editorial guidelines.

Frequently asked questions

Can a casino pay for a higher score?
No. We earn commissions through affiliate links when you sign up, but the commission is never tied to the score. The weights in the model are fixed, and the same checklist applies to every casino, partner or not.
How often are the scores updated?
Every review is revisited quarterly. For major changes, such as a lost license or frozen withdrawals, we update the score immediately. The ratings table shows when each casino was last reviewed.
Why is your score different from Trustpilot?
We measure partly different things. Trustpilot reflects the overall customer experience, while our score is built on weighted criteria where payments, security and bonuses count the most. Verified player feedback from Trustpilot and AskGamblers can also move the total by at most 1.0 points, weighted by review volume, so a handful of reviews has no effect.
What does it take to score 5.0?
In practice, a casino needs to perform at the top across all seven criteria: fast verified withdrawals, an established license, clear terms, a broad game selection and support that answers quickly. No casino in our comparison has reached 5.0 so far.
Do you really test with your own money?
Yes. We open an account, make a real crypto deposit and request a real withdrawal to our own wallet at every casino we review. The withdrawal time we publish is measured, not taken from the casino's marketing.
Can a casino drop off the list?
Yes. Casinos that stop paying out winnings, lose their license or shut down are removed from the top lists. Closed casinos are shown separately on the review page so the history stays on record.
